NUA Graduation Exhibition 2014

We really do have the best of everything in Norwich, best people, best chip shop, best architecture and best Art School. NUA formerly NUCA got upgraded to a University from a College last year and we've all adapted to the dropping the C now. What hasn't changed is the consistently high standards of art that is produced within the extensive facilities. There is lots to see, Fine Art, Moving Image and Fashion and Textiles take up one building and adjacent you will find the likes of Illustration, Graphics and Photography.

Sophie Porter

In fine art there was so much to see and take in, I went back for a second look today, what stood out for me was Sophie Porter's 12ft photograph pasted directly onto the wall. This picture does not in the slightest show the scale, it's quite haunting and I might've dreamt about it last night!

Polly Baker

After having your thoughts provoked in Fine Art take a walk downstairs to Fashion and Textiles, it's a bright and lovely place to wander around. The colours and patterns are all a joy to behold, this is my favourite part of the show, above is Polly Bakers beautiful swathes of animal printed cloth.

Carrie Marks

In photography and Game Art Design I found Carrie Marks' photographs titled 'Nowhere in Particular' to be especially endearing, each photo is no more than 7 cm (estimate!) and mounted off the wall in a perfect little square.

Rachel Peel

Illustration at NUA is always of such a high standard and this year is no exception, there are so many good exhibits but my favouite was Rachel Peel. I'm a big fan of bold bright work and this screams early 90's fashion to me, I love the abstract shapes and the drop shadows.

Bethanie Yeong

There were a few local themed works and I had to get one in, this is a painstakingly delicate paper cut of the city centre of Norwich by Bethanie Yeong. I wouldn't like to guess how long this took but I think it deserves to be appreciated by your fine selves! Enjoy the show and tag us in your favourite pieces.
