Moorish Falafel Bar

We know you know about Moorish, and you know we know about Moorish, but we thought it was time to review some of the old favourites in Norwich, just so you know that we know what you know! Since Moorish opened a few years ago they have cemented themselves into the hearts and stomachs of Norwich residents, they have a loyal customer base and from what I hear even some daily lunchtime visitors. Situated in the heart of the bustling lanes, and with their fresh food and bright ambience, they were just what Norwich needed at the time, and we'd be lost without them.
I went in for some lunch Wednesday, I went for a pitta but you can have mezze if you don't fancy the bread, I fancied the bread. The pittas are stuffed full of salad and sauces of your choosing, I had tahini and chili, and more chilis on the side...I like chilis! I also had a homemade lemonade with mint and a vegan millionaires shortbread, they insisted I try one and who am I to argue?
It's always difficult to know how to eat your pitta, go for the grab? delicately pick with a fork? mixture? The salad is delicious and fresh and the falafel is crisp on the outside and with a nice dry crumbly texture inside, perfection. There is seating upstairs and downstairs but I chose to eat outside, even though it was chilly it is still one of the best places to sit and watch the world go by, you're guaranteed to see at least ten of your friends. The lemonade with mint was the perfect palate cleanser before I began the caramel slice, I'm not usually one for dessert and I might add I had finished ALL of my pitta, however the slice was worth the full stomach, a really light base with a peanut butter caramel substitute and rich chocolate top, yum. I then waddled off to do the school run, thanks Moorish, we love you!
