Moosey Gallery

Last night I went to the preview of the new Moosey Art gallery on Bridewell Alley, it's been a labour of love for owner Frazer Bailey. I've watched it transform from derelict hairdressing salon to slick contemporary art gallery, there has been a lot of work in between and everyone involved should be feeling very proud right now. The gallery will be open mon-sat 10-6 I believe, it will feature urban, street and contemporary artists from around the globe. The opening has some artists you would have seen at previous Moosey shows, worldwide and also local big names. The official opening is tonight and you are all welcome, I will be popping in again with Amber this time so say hi!
A few of my favourite pieces from the show were David Shillinglaw's 'Lip Service' I loved the depth and colour, lots of hidden treats, so keep looking. Millo and Benjamin Murphy displayed another delightful collaboration in both their signature styles, they work well together, both loving a bit of monochrome! Malarky has two playful pieces, a sculpture and a painting which both made me smile. 'Outpost' by local artist Steff Plaetz is incredible, he has a great suggestive style, I had a really good up close look at this one too. I also loved Muretz's 'Folded', a mix of spray and pen on cotton, very inspiring. There are many more great works, I'm sure you'll all have your favourites.
If you can't make it tonight we hope you all wander down to the gallery at some point , it's definitely a positive addition to Norwich's art culture.
