Much-loved Norwich eatery goes vegan only

In July 2019, Norwich was named as the most vegan-friendly city in the UK. Now, Moorish Falafel Bar who are based in the Norwich Lanes, will be dropping their vegetarian dishes for vegan only options.

Moorish are famous in Norwich for serving delicious zesty Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine and that is not about to change. However, their wraps, salad bowls and burgers, which are all freshly prepared on the premises, will now be dairy free.

According to the Vegan Society, there are now more than 600,000 vegans in the UK which shows an increase of 400% over the last 10 years. Those figure are rising on a daily basis and that’s why the largest retailers are taking note. Many UK supermarkets now have vegan only sections and are also selling their own brand plant-based ready meals.

Owner of Moorish Falafel Bar, Samia King said:  “After nearly 9 years of trading at Moorish, I have finally decided to make our menu 100% vegan! We have always had yoghurt sauce, feta and cows milk as options but from today we will be serving vegan alternatives for those things.  We can now proudly say we are a fully vegan restaurant.”

Moorish Falafel Bar can be found at 17 Lower Goat Lane, Norwich, NR2 1EL.

Opening hours: Monday – Saturday 11:00 – 18:00
